Hi all, it has been a while since I have posted anything on here. To catch everyone up to speed we are doing good. Carson is still looking for a job and is really hoping to work at Boeing so that is what he is doing currently. Jamison is a busy little two year old, wreaking havoc wherever he goes. I am still working at Kadlec Clinic and still enjoying it. We are looking forward to the new adventures that we will soon be having if Carson does get hired at Boeing.

These are just a few pictures from this summer of things Jamison loves to do, he loves ice cream and Popsicles, he had a lot of fun playing in the kiddie pool while the boys had swim lessons, he loves mauling the cat, falling asleep in his high chair is always fun, also he always accidentally hits his head, more than any other child I know. This last picture was taken later in the day after a fun trip to the ER for a couple of cuts on his head after falling off of the couch onto a glass cup, it was more traumatic for me than for him I think, but he was happy once he got a Popsicle from the nurse!

So it has been a while since I have posted anything (Halloween) I had these few pictures on the computer from Jamison's birthday that I thought I would put up. He is 15 months already and is so much fun. I will have to post more pictures later from our trip to Portland.

For Jamison's first Halloween I decided to try and make his costume, he, as you can tell, is the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Carson was going to be a Ghostbuster but he never made his costume, I was lame and did not have a costume at all. I had fun making Jamison's costume though it was frustrating at times, luckily Carson helped out. I am very proud to say that Carson made the has all on his own, I just sewed the elastic band for a chin strap. We had a great time with family for Halloween! Hope everone else had a great Halloween! Also in the the 2nd picture Jamison is with his cousins, the Burch boys were sock monkeys and Evelyn was a cand corn princess.

Hello. It has been a while since I have put a post up and I just thought I would say Hi. Well jamison is 9 1/2 months old now, I can hardly believe it. He is doing so many fun things.. Some of his favorite things include climbing the stairs, he know how to get to them from anywhere in the house, he has started giving me kisses which I love, even if it does include a lot of slobber. He doesn't want to even try walking yet, he will walk around the furniture but as soon as he stands up and I try to hold his hands to get him to walk he plops down to the floor. Carson and I went to Leavenworth on Thursday and it was our first night away from Jamison, it was harder on me than Carson. But we had a great time and it was nice to sleep in. So Jamison is 6 months old yesterday and I thought I should put up a post for the occassion. Jamison is trying to get some teeth in so he has been a little grumpy lately but I am sure his little teeth will be adorable once they are in. Jamison loves being outside, he also really loves his cousins and when we head over to Megan's house in the mornings he is always grinning and giggling when the Burch boys are around. He is such a happy little guy and we are so blessed to have him in our lives. More pictures to come!

Carson and I are so excited to have Jamison here. He was born on December 29th 2009, weighing in at 7 lbs and is 21 inches long!

So this past sunday Carson and I had the opportunity to go to the Day of Remeberance, which is for fallen servicemen from the northwest. It was pretty amazing and very emotional. One of my favorite parts was when all of these bikers rode up on into Flat Top park on their Harleys and lined them all up in the back and began helping where ever they could. It was very touching to see all of these people come out and support the families of those who have lost loved ones in battle and for the support they give to those who are still serving. Carson is in the VFW and had the opportunity to be a part of the ceremony in the rifle squad. It was a very emotional experience but it was such and amazing thing to be a part of. One of the highlights for Carson was that he was able to meet General Mattis, he is a Four Star General which is the highest rank in the Marines, not only that but he is also the Supreme Commander of United NATO Forces, which doesn't mean a lot to me or most people but pretty much he is the man in charge of all military activity in the Middle East right now, for the UN, from what I understand. Oh by the way, General Mattis also graduated from Richland High School which automatically makes him awesome. It is funny because I have never seen Carson so nervous in my life, ever! While he was waiting to meet General Mattis, I actually had to push to go up to the general because people kept going in front of him. So now Carson has some sweet bragging rights when he goes to drill this month.

So, first off, my cat is very strange yet very entertaining. She really likes to get inside of boxes, among many other thicngs. Here she decided to get inside a water bottle container from Costco. I thoroughly enjoy the picture where her face is smashed up against the plastic and her arm is sticking out because she is trying to attack Carson.

So I am sure that everyone is wanting an update on the baby, well he is still in my belly, obviously, and it feels like he is doing somersalts inside of me, which is strange yet exciting. By the way so far his name is Jamison Gabriel Maestas, but who knows that could change by the time january rolls around, I highly doubt it though. Sorry I haven't put up pictures of my pregnant self but I am not really feeling like being infront of the camera anytime soon. Rest assured though, I am sure Tara will make me sometime in the near future.

It's a Boy!

So we had our 20 week ultrasound on friday and found out that we are having a BOY, Carson is ecstatic! His name will be Jamison Gabriel, so that is the exciting news for this blog. Also I finished the MA program and got a job at Kadlec Clinic in West Richland. Carson got a sweet new helmet that I picked out, which is pretty rad. Anyways that is our exciting news for now, that's all.

Porcupine

I guess I will start out by letting everyone know that doesn't already know, that Carson and I are expecting. I am 15 weeks along, and my due date is January 14th, 2 days after my birthday! So that is the most exciting news since the last post. Other than that, I preparing to finish up with school in about 2 weeks. I have been doing my externship at Three Rivers Family Medicine, and it has been really fun. I am no looking for jobs, not so much fun, but am excited to start working and making money again. Carson is still enjoying his motorcycle, he sadly had to leave it for 5 weeks in May and June to go to Oklahoma for the Marines. Other than that we are doing great. We did have an interesting experience this past Sunday. At 4 in the morning I was woken up by the sound of scratching on my bedroom window and kitty hissing at something. When I looked outside I saw a large fury animal trying to escape the window well. As it was 4 in the morning I could not tell what it was so obviously I took a picture of it with my camera phone and texted Carson, since he was away at drill. He thought it was a muskrat... boy was he wrong! Turns out it was a porcupine, it weighed probably a good 30 pounds. By the way, if a porcupine ever gets stuck in your backyard you should know that it is your problem to deal with, animal control will not come and get it for you because it is considered a nuisance and not dangerous?! Anyways, our neighbor had a trap so we trapped it and let it go out by the Yakima at the Richland Y. It was good times all the neighbors had to come and see it, because who knew there are porcupines in the Tri-Cities, I sure didn't, and how the heck did it get into my backyard but couldn't get out? Oh well here are some pictures of our prickly friend! So I have a better picture but it is not currently working, so I will post it when it is.

Catching up

So Carson got a motorcycle yesterday, and he is like a little boy with a shiny new toy. Anyways, I am kind of so-so on the subject, I know it makes him happy but at the same time I have the thoughts in the back of my head of motorcycle accidents. He is however required by the Marine Corp to take the course before he can get his endorsement and actually ride the thing around, so that is good, I am also requiring that he take the intermmediate class when he is eligible for that. Beyond that we are doing good, we chopped down 3 trees in our yard last weekend and one more this weekend, then ground out the stumps with a stump grinder. So that brings us up to a total of 6 trees chopped down since we moved in a year ago, not to mention the 8 little pine trees we dug out for Trevor. I know what you are thinking, man that is a lot of trees, and to think we still have 6 more trees to go. And they are not small trees either, 2 more big pine trees, and 3 more big locust trees, and a pear tree. Did I mention that we only live on like a quarter acre lot in Richland... Anywho, school is going good for both of us, Carson has one final tomorrow then he is done for the semester, and I am just into the second month of the quarter. It is going good and I am really looking forward to externship in the summer.

On another very important note, my sister Tara and her husband Jason have been trying to get pregnant for about five years now and haven't been able to. Last year they began the process of adoption through the LDS adoption agency. Tara and Jason are amazing people and are really great with our nieces and nephews and would love to have children of their own, so if anyone out there reads this and knows of anyone who might be considering giving their baby to a loving family please have them go to this website http://www.beta.itsaboutlove.org/ and look under Washington state for their profile (Jason and Tara). March Already!

Well it really has been a while since I have written, last time a wrote it was the beginning of the quarter, now it is the end of the quarter. A lot has happened lately, first off our cat had kittens and they are adorable! Also, school has been going great, we have learned how to do so many things, one of my favorites I would have to say is venipuncture, my teacher says I am a vampire because I like drawing blood. It was so exciting because I actually drew blood on the first try. Other things that have happened include my 24th birthday and Carson's 25th birthday. I am looking forward to our 2 year anniversary this upcoming Tuesday. I can't believe it has been two years already! Sorry there still aren't pictures of me doing something cool from class, but here are some pictures of the kittens!

Well, my 24th birthday was this last Monday and it was a good day. Robbie and Megan threw a birthday party for me since it was Carson's first day of classes. I had lots of fun playing with the nephews and watching 24 with Robbie and Megan. Thanks for the party. On another note, school started up again on the 5th and it has been a blast getting down into the lab and starting vitals and injections. I successfully gave my first 5 injections this past Wednesday and it was scary but at the same time amazing. We learned how to do intradermal shots such as TB tests, we start venopuncture in two weeks so that should be fun as well. Kitty is doing good, she was in heat a couple of weeks ago and hasn't gone back into heat yet so we think she is pregnant, that should be interesting. Also my niece Evelyn turned 1 on the 9th and she looked so adorable in her Little tutu. Well that is pretty much it, I should get some pictures up of me giving injections once I get them from my teacher so look out for those!

Winter Break

Well I am happy to say that I passed all of my finals with flying colors! Carson and I had a great Christmas with my family and his. It was a lot of fun to have the whole Sant clan together, it is always a good time with them, never a dull moment. I must say I got Carson some pretty sweet gifts, including a new camera and my favorite cologne, Aqua di Gio. Kitty got a sweet toy she never plays with, however she does love her catnip. Also she is in heat right now so she is a bundle of fun, not really she comes in and tries to wake us up at three in the morning. I am looking forward to school starting up again next week, I bought a stethascope and blood pressure cup this past tuesday and immediately went home to play with them. I hope everyone has a happy New Year!

Almost Christmas!

So Carson and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our families, it was some good eating. Tara, Jamie, and I went to Michael's on thanksgiving and I must say we found some pretty cool things. I am happy to say that I am done buying presents for Carson until his birthday, which is nice because now I just need to get some presents for the nephews, Jamie, and my parents. Well classes will be out in two weeks and I am so excited that my first quarter of the med. asst. program is almost over, I am looking forward to a break from the homework for a bit, but I am really excited to get into the lab next quarter and learn all of the clinical stuff. Life has been pretty boring these past couple of months for us since we pretty much just work and go to school, but I am looking forward to Christmas, YAY!

The strangest day of my life!

So this past thursday was the strangest day of my life. On my way to work I decided to stop at the sell gas station on G-way and grab a soda, as I was checking out an elderly gentleman fell off the curb and hit his head. The lady checking me out rushed outside to help him, he was bleeding from his head and had a bad laceration on his arm, so of course I called 911. He happened to be 91 years old, I am not sure what happened after he was taken to the hospital but I think he is ok because his car wasn't at the gas station the next day. That is the first thing. Then about 15 minutes before I am suposed to get off of work I my co-worker tells me to look out the window, and what do I see a cop car. I look closer to see 2 cops with their guns out and pointed at the car they had pulled over. Shortly there after 5 more cop cars pull up and anotehr cop pulls out a shotgun. They go on to get 6 men out of a early 90's ford escort. Anther co-workers husband is the chief of police- and she got the story for us on what was going on. Apparently all of the guys in the car were 18-19 years old and they were in Richland and apparently one of them flashed a gun at a pedestrian. The pedestrian called the police but hte richland cops didn't get them however they called the other police stations and the west richland police pulled them over. It was a huge ordeal the police stopped traffic for a 1/2 hour and no one could leave the dentist office until all of the men were hand cuffed and in the police cars. So that is a synopsis of the strangest day of my life!

This si a picture looking straight up the inside of the tallest light house in Oregon.
Unfortunately you have to be a certaing height to go uo to the top of the light house sou we had to take turns going up so someone could sit with the boys, this is a picture from the first landing on the stairs looking down. Jakob was sad he didn't get to go up, eh was like 2 inches too short.

Carson under the sea, just kidding! This was actually one of the first underwater breathing helmets, it is on display at the Newport Aquarium and it has ladders so little kids can get in a take pictures too.

So again it has been a while since I have posted anything, but not much has been going on around the Maestas household. Recently Carson and I went with my family to the Oregon coast for a family vacation. We had a blast, Caeson got to try surfing the first day he swallowed a lot of ocean but the second day he did much better. He also tried skim boarding while there and I think he really enjoyed that one. Th ebeach house we stayed in was amazing, it was a short walk from the beach, however it was at the top of the hill and you could see up the oregon coastline from the second floor. Some of the other activities we enjoyed were crabbing, the Tillamook chese factory, Depoe Bay, the Newport aquarium, the outlet mall and other fun things like playing at the beach. since the whole fam was there we also took family pictures with Cameron and Jamies camera. We had an amazing time and hopefully will be able to go again in the near future. On the drive home we stopped at the Japanese Gardens in Portland however Carson left the mamory card to the camera in the computer so Megan took picutres for us(thanks Megan) so we are going to get copies from her. In about a week I will start the Medical Assistant program an am looking forward to being back in school. Carson is not going to school this semester due to marine stuff but he will be starting his masters program in the winter. That is an overall upddate for now. Oh exciting news, one of my best friends Meiske had her baby this past we, her name is Ava, I am very excited about that.

Medical Assistant

Well I am happy to say that I have been accepted into the medical assistant program at CBC and will be starting classes this fall. That is the exciting news in our household. Carson and I have been busy working on the house. We have chopped down two trees and are close to digging out a huge hole in the backyard to put in a koi pond. We have also been busy painting out upstairs living room and I am ashamed to say that it has taken us quite a while to finish it (1 1/2 months) hopefully I will be able to finish it this weekend while Carson is at drill and will be able to surprise him when he gets home. Who knows maybe it will earn me a few brownie points. We are looking forward to the rest of the summer especially our trio to the coast with my family at the end of August. Also good news but sad at the same time is that my grandma burch passed away on Monday 7/7/08, I am sad and will miss her but I know she is in a better place and is happy where she is. That is what the Maestas family has been up to in the past couple of weeks. Hope to write again soon!

Trouble

Hi, it has been a while since I first started this blog but I am still trying to figure it out so bear with me. Since my last blog post Carson has chopped down two trees in our yard and we have a kitten. She is adorable and her name is Trouble, unfortunately I don't have any pictures I can put up of her yet but I will try to get one up soon. Also my brother and his wife and baby girl moved back up here from Utah so that is very exciting because I now have a niece that is close. Also Carson graduated from WSU Tri-Cities in May with his bachelor's in accounting, I have also finished at CBC until the fall quarter. I turned in my application for the medical assistant program and I am just waiting to hear back and see if I have been accepted. They won't let us know until July though. That is pretty much what has been going on in the life of the Maestas family recently.
